    The position

    The Environmental Health and Safety and (EHS) Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager, is a member of the Plant Leadership Team and is responsible for overall management and execution of Health, Safety and Environment activities within the confines of the site. This critical role understands the interworking relationship between safety and productivity, profits, employee engagement and retention. As a site leader the EHS Supervisor sets the overall site EHS vision of excellence and ensures overall EHS programs are vital and relevant.

    Responsibilities

    What you’ll do:

    Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design, implement and execute programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws, regulations and policies governing the health and safety of individuals.

    Qualifications

    What you’ll need:

    • B.S. Safety Management, Industrial Safety, Sciences, Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene preferred.
    • Strong technical and regulatory knowledge and expertise.
    • Ability to interact with site and corporate level manufacturing/business management, community, elected officials and non-government organizations as well as, state and federal regulatory agencies. Such as OSHA
    • Experience with hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, job hazard analysis and Process Hazards Analysis desired.
    • Effective leadership and personnel management skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills including a high level of comfort developing and delivering training and motivational presentations to all levels of associates is a must.
    • Experience developing and managing projects on time, on budget, safely to completion.
