  • Overview

    Operates as a fully participating and effective team member of a production line within the scope of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) required of this position.  Aids in the performance and work flow of the production line by removing the waste product from the line.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Responsibilities:

    1. Operates at least one major piece of equipment on any of the balers.
    2. Perform all the daily basic safety checks and observations, quality checks, checklists, and housekeeping
    3. Clear equipment jams
    4. Ensure compliance to the recycling process of empty component boxes
    5. Utilizes computer interface panels to operate the equipment
    6. Adheres to the requirements of the SOP’s, GMP’s and JSA’s
    7. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and adheres to all safety procedures as documented in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
    8. Report safety hazards, quality and production issues to supervision immediately
    9. Participates in all job related safety training
    10. Complies with all Church & Dwight Co. Inc. policies and procedures and NJ laws
    11. Responsible for making rounds to the packaging line throughout the shift to remove cardboard and other waste material
    12. May use hand truck throughout the course of work

     

    Qualifications

    Non-Essential Responsibilities:

    1. Perform other duties as assigned
    2. Train other operators as may be required

    1. Able to communicate, write and read English
    2. Teamwork -Ability to interact with employees at all levels
    3. Ability to take and follow directions
    4. Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
    5. Basic math skills
    6. Attention to details
    7. Basic computer skills
    8. Maintain good safety record
    9. Lift up to 50lbs

     

    Education and Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 

    Experience working in a packaging or manufacturing environment is preferred
